Michael R. Berkowitz, C.O.O.

Michael R. Berkowitz has accumulated more than twenty-five (25) years of experience in asset-based financing.  He has significant experience in the automobile leasing industry and previously owned an automobile company.  Mr. Berkowitz later worked as Vice President of Portfolio Management for Aleet Leasing, where he once again arranged and managed an automobile lease portfolio in excess of 10,000 vehicles.  In 1994, he began to utilize this asset-based financial experience as a consultant to several aircraft financing entities.  

In this capacity, Mr. Berkowitz was responsible for identifying, analyzing and facilitating potential aircraft  lease transactions.  He worked closely with global airlines to identify their fleet planning requirements, and interacted with numerous aircraft brokerage organizations and FAA approved maintenance facilities to procure aircraft in accordance with these identified requirements.  Because of these experiences, he signed on as President of Republic Aircraft Sales, Inc., in 1996.  
  

Richard M. Laggan, President & C.F.O.

Mr. Laggan brings a wealth of financial management and banking experience to AVMAC.  During the period from 1986 to 1990, he served as Zone Control Manager with Transamerica Automotive Finance Corporation.  In this capacity, Mr. Laggan was responsible for managing a $20 million monthly wholesale, retail, leasing and capital loan portfolio for automobile dealers in New York and New Jersey.  In 1990, he joined Tilden Commercial Alliance, Inc., a subsidiary of Fleet Bank, formerly National Westminster Bank, as Vice President of Asset Control and Portfolio Management.  His duties with Tilden included the management of a $750,000,000 automobile lease portfolio, and the liquidation of all defaulted lessor portfolios. Mr. Laggan also was responsible for portfolio securitizations, as well as the performance of all necessary due diligence associated with any potential portfolio acquisitions.  

Mr. Laggan currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the Aero Toy Store, Inc. /Executive Jet Center, corporate jet sales and finance company as well as a full service FBO (Fixed Base Operator).  He is responsible for all aspects of financial accounting, budgeting, planning and lending relations.  He also provides financial expertise in the negotiations and reviews of all contracts and agreements, and oversees all insurance matters.

In three short years, Mr. Laggan set up the financial infrastructure that enabled the Aero Toy Store, Inc. to become the largest pre-owned private and corporate jet aircraft dealer in the U. S.; and helps achieve the goal of becoming the premier aircraft dealer / FBO in the country.

Sandy Edelman, C.E.O.
Brings over thirty years of business and aviation sector experience to AVMAC.  He was an active partner in a Part 135 air taxi/cargo company that provided service to customers such as Grumman, Fairchild, Eastern Airlines, Pan Am Airlines, Singer Telesignal and Pall Corporation.  Mr. Edelman is also a licensed commercial pilot (multi-engine and instrument ratings), licensed aircraft mechanic (Airframe & Power plant), Advanced Instrument Ground Instructor and possesses an excellent technical aviation background.  

Mr. Edelman has served as a New York Stock Exchange Member Broker, where he facilitated the trading of all company orders as well as outside arbitrage accounts.

As Chief Executive Officer of Republic Aircraft Sales, Inc., he has gained a vast amount of experience in the exportation of aircraft spares to international carriers, i.e., Olympic Airways, Korean Airlines, Hellenic Aerospace and others.  His use of credit insurance to back his receivables aided him in formulating the concept that is the cornerstone of AVMAC.   

Bruce D. Green, Esq., Senior VP, Corporate Counsel

Bruce Green obtained his undergraduate degrees in speech (outstanding senior) and mass communications from the University of South Florida in 1975.  In 1978, he graduated from the Nova University School of Law (J.D.).  Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1978 and admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 5th and 11th Circuits. Mr. Green has also been admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Green is a Florida Board Certified Aviation Lawyer, a member of the National Transportation Safety Board Bar Association and serves on the Florida Bar Aviation Law Committee, and is Chairman of the Florida Bar Aviation Law Board Certification Committee, and is a Commercial Pilot (multi-engine and instrument ratings).  Mr. Green specializes in representing aviation professionals.
